Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in its second reading the bill No. 1210 "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine on Improvement of Tax Administration, Elimination of Technical and Logical Mismatches in the Tax Legislation", one of the norms of which finally abolishes the so-called "soybeans."

At the end of 2017, lobbyists of oligarchic groups adopted amendments to the tax code that abolished VAT refunds for rapeseed and soybean exports. Small and medium-sized farmers, who were forced to sell their crops at bargain prices and suffer losses, suffered the most from such changes.

For two years the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council fought for the abolition of the adopted norms. The Association provided calculations, which confirmed the huge losses of farmers from such "innovations", held round tables and working groups, speakers of UAC raised the problem on the air of television channels. Agrarians blocked roads in 13 oblasts and held rallies under the Verkhovna Rada, demanding the elimination of discriminatory practices against small and medium-sized soybean businesses and restoring justice.

UAC welcomes today's decision by MPs who heard the agrarians. We thank you for the support of the authorized President for Land Affairs Roman Leshchenko, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Mykola Solsky, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Getmantsev, People's Deputies Oleg Tarasov and Oleksiy Ustenko and all deputies of the agrarian and tax committees who supported this demand and all the time sought to abolish the soybean amendments.
