Yesterday, the official Facebook page of the Ukrainian Agri Council was attacked by a bot factory. As a result, some of the content was removed from the page as if it was spam. However, this is nothing but manipulation, since the deleted videos were for informational purposes only; they were not advertised or distributed.

In particular, the attack removed the following materials:

  • photos and videos from the roundtable "Land Sale: Ukrainian Realities and Lithuanian Experience", during which Lithuanian colleagues advised not to allow foreigners to the land market and carefully work out the conditions for admission of legal entities, which would not allow any schemes of land purchase by foreigners and oligarchs that could be done through them;

  • videos from speeches of UAC Chairman Andriy Dykun and his deputy Mykhailo Sokolov at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the parliamentary hearings on the land reform, in which the speakers emphasized that the land reform should be carried out in the interests of small and medium-sized business and that the launch of the land market should be postponed for three years;
  • a video from a briefing of Deputy Head Denis Marchuk, in which he explicitly stated that the authorities today do not hear the people's opinion on the land reform;
  • UAC videos on how we should not allow oligarchs to buy Ukrainian agricultural land, after the appropriation of factories, mines, power companies, and regional gas companies.

From the very beginning, UAC has taken a clear and consistent position on the land reform: oligarchs and foreigners should not be allowed to enter the market, and the reform itself should give an impact to the development of small and medium-sized agrarians, who give far more value, jobs and currency revenue per hectare, than the land ones, which specialize in the production of cereals and industrial crops, which are products with relatively low added value.

UAC considers this attack to be an attempt to prevent the spread of true information in society about the consequences of the so-called "liberal model" of the land reform, which is beneficial to the oligarchs and is not beneficial to Ukraine at all.

Unfortunately, existing Facebook rules leave room for blocking information dissemination using fake complaints.

Using this, the army of bots is trying to make the truth look like spam and thereby manipulate its spread in society.

However, UAC will continue to bring the truth to the public and talk about the real consequences of the introduction of the so-called "liberal", or rather, the oligarchic land market.
