Today, the leadership of the Ukrainian Agricultural Council met with agricultural producers in the Mykolaiv region, during which the participants expressed considerable interest in issues of protection against raiding.

Recently, the problem of unlawful seizure of land and agricultural enterprises has become acute. In 2017, according to the UAC, the number of raider cases increased 2.5 times compared to 2016 - to almost 1,000 of 360.

Most affected by the raiders are agrarians of Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions. Therefore, it is important for agrarians to think about improving the safety of their own farms. In order to protect UAC members from raider attacks, in November 2017, with the support of UAC, there was established a security company Haydamaky, which specializes in providing a full range of services for the protection of agrarian business.

In addition to the importance of taking measures to combat raiding, the farmers during the meeting noted the need to develop cooperation in Ukraine as an effective mechanism for improving their competitiveness and productivity. In particular, the participants talked about the results of the cooperative activity of the FUAC. To date, FUAC includes 69 agricultural enterprises with a land bank of 300 hectares to 12 thousand hectares. The total land bank of the cooperative is about 200 thousand hectares. Thus, today, FUAC is already among the ten largest agricultural enterprises by the size of the land bank.

Agrarians have noted the economic expediency of cooperation, especially since the association opens up more opportunities for agricultural producers in legislative work, etc.

Another important topic for discussion was the issue of state support to the agrarian sector. Farmers are concerned that this year the mechanism of distribution of state support has been transferred to manual mode, which has become ineffective. Therefore, many enterprises have not yet received assistance from the state and do not know what to expect in the future.
