The leadership of the Ukrainian Agricultural Council held a meeting with farmers in the Chernihiv region to discuss the most pressing issues in the agrarian sector.

The meeting was attended by 11 representatives of agricultural enterprises from Nizhyn, Bakhmat, Kozyletsky and Nosiv districts.

The main focus was on protection against raids. As noted, in order to allow farmers to protect themselves against unlawful seizures of land and crops, lease agreements must necessarily be registered and postponed to electronic mode. In addition, farmers need to streamline the workflow in the enterprise, enlist the support of professional lawyers and organize a reliable security system using video surveillance.

Another important topic for discussion were the shortcomings of the government approved state support system for the agrarian sector. Farmers expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that instead of creating an effective agribusiness development program, the Cabinet of Ministers transposed the mechanism of distribution of subsidies into manual mode, thus depriving producers of real support from the state.

At the end of the meeting, the participants noted that the discussion was at a very high level. "It will be a pity for those who did not visit the meeting," said one of the farmers from the hall, noting the professionalism of the dialogue.

We are sincerely grateful to the director of “Piskivske" Valery Petrovich Kolosha for organizing the meeting.
