The first Ukrainian agricultural cooperative (PUSK) nearly tripled the volume of mineral nitrogen fertilizer supplies to Ukrainian farmers in 2019. Thus, in 2018, 17 thousand tonnes were delivered, and in 2019 - 47.7 thousand tonnes, 35.6 thousand of which are direct deliveries from abroad.

Saltpeter, carbomide , CAS, ammonium sulfate and nitroamophos were supplied to Ukraine from Lithuania and Turkey. For the first time in 2019, the supply of carbomide from Romania was managed. In April the first batch of fertilizers from this country came to the Nikolaev port.

According to Oleksandr Buyukli, the executive director of the cooperative, this result was achieved thanks to the confidence in the start-up of foreign suppliers and Ukrainian farmers, which in turn is based on timely fulfillment of their obligations.

“We have established good partnerships with fertilizer producers. But the most important thing is setting up customs. After the arrival of the new team, customs clearance issues did not arise as before. All necessary documents - conclusions of the laboratory, declarations - are received within a few days. Logistics is also well established, it is possible to deliver fertilizers to our farmers on time. Now we are working with domestic producers of fertilizers, ”said Oleksandr Buyukli.

Let’s recall that in 2018, because of the monopoly on the Ukrainian fertilizer market, which led to a significant price increase, farmers began to look for an alternative abroad. At the end of 2018, due to the fight against smuggling from the Russian Federation, a batch of nitrogen fertilizers exported from Turkey by PUSK was completely blocked at customs.
