More than 200 farmers of Kherson oblast gathered in Novomykolayivka for a Land Forum to discuss the most urgent issues in the agrarian sector. Event organizer, member of the board of the Ukrainian Agri Council, Sergiy Rybalko said that such events are a great format for exchanging opinions and getting new information.

"The Land Forum gathered agrarians of the South of Kherson oblast. We discussed the cost of water, vegetable sales, the purchase of seeds for vegetables, the processing of vegetable products, and the most important topic — the risks of the introduction of the land market. Everyone is afraid that in a short period all our land will be in the hands of foreigners. Our task is not to lose our land ", — said Sergiy Rybalko.

The question of the creation and operation of cooperatives in Ukraine was another, which aroused lively interest among those present. Oleksandr Buyukli, Executive Director of the FUAC Cooperative, spoke about the successful experience of the cooperative. In particular, the establishment of supply of mineral fertilizers from abroad — Egypt, Turkey, Romania, the Baltic countries — and exports of grain to other countries.

In addition, farmers have raised a number of painful issues - raids in the agricultural sector, inflated prices for fertilizers and more expensive irrigation fields. Victoria Kipriyanova, a lawyer on land issues of the UAC, explained some legal aspects in the issue of land lease.

The head of the UAC Andriy Dykun in his turn emphasized the importance of the work of the farmers:

"Imagine: 40% of currency earnings is provided by the agrarian sector. That is, due to your work, including the current course of the dollar, "- said Andriy Dykun.
