The UAC took part in a meeting with Olha Stefanishyna, the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and Mykola Solskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The key issue discussed by the representatives of agricultural associations was the export of Ukrainian agricultural products under the blockade on the Ukrainian-Polish border.

"European integration means that the country has to find its place in the EU internal market. This is not an easy process, and it was not easy for every enlargement country. At the same time, our goal is to ensure that all problematic issues are resolved in a constructive manner, but taking into account the limitations imposed on logistics by a full-scale war," noted Olha Stefanishyna.

European countries are actually interested in supplying Ukrainian agricultural products, and the strikes are supported by myths and disinformation.

"Today, it is important for the Ukrainian agricultural sector to understand how trade relations with the EU will continue to function. Because the difficulties created by Poland hinder the development of trade. And this is in a situation when the European Commission has actually confirmed that in 2024-2025 the program "without duties and quotas" for Ukrainian products will be in effect. Maintaining these conditions is very important for the agricultural sector. We need to do a lot of work for this: unblock transit through Poland. Because other European countries are waiting for Ukrainian products and are willing to buy them. It is necessary to raise the issue of myths that are being introduced by the European side regarding the quality of Ukrainian goods and not only.  In particular, the European prejudice that most Ukrainian products exported across Western borders are produced in agricultural holdings is wrong.  In fact, small and medium-sized producers who are unable to ship their products by sea use land transportation. They form small batches and transport their products by truck. It is important for the UAC to maintain a constructive dialog with our partners in Poland," said Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the UAC.

The Vice Prime Minister thanked the representatives of Ukrainian agribusiness for their work during the full-scale aggression and the efforts they are making to build a dialogue with partners in the EU.
